The Anglers Inn is located in downtown Jackson, yet in a quiet residential area, next to meandering Flat Creek. Just 2 1/2 short blocks Northwest of the Town Square, there are many fine restaurants, galleries and shops within a short, interesting walk.

Scott Heywood has explored the world sometimes as a mountaineer, sometimes as a white water kayaker, but always as a fly fisherman, having managed to hide a travel rod somewhere in his gear. He was inducted into the Explorers Club in 1994 and has fished all over the world both in fresh and salt water. Learning early in life that 'real work' was to be avoided, Scott can usually be found traveling the world looking for new, remote water with big, naive fish.

The Pollard family has been in the hunting, guiding, fishing and wilderness pack trip business in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming since 1952! My grandfather, Archie, built the first lodge on Half Moon Lake in 1952. I have had my Wyoming Outfitters License (BG71) since 1976 and worked as a guide/packer for my Grandfather for 10 years prior to that point in time. I received my BS degree in Wildlife from Utah and Weber State Universities in 1972 and have put that knowledge to work in our Outfitting Business. Our business is truly a Family Operation....

We specialize in fly tying materials. We have been tying flies for over 25 years. We have also taught fly tying at a local community college for six years. In an effort to find quality fly tying materials for our classes, we decided to get into the business of selling top quality materials at reasonable prices.

Big Sandy Lodge is 44 miles from the nearest town of Boulder, Wyoming. We're at 9,100 feet elevation and We're located high in the rugged southern Wind River Mountain Rangebordering the Bridger Wilderness at the southern end of the spectacular 90-mile long Wind River Mountain Range. There are no public phones or electricity here at the Lodge, so leave the rest of the world behind and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery, fantastic fishing, horseback riding on wilderness trails, the smell of evergreen trees, and incredible star-filled night skies.

There are some excellent opportunities to fly fish for trout on our own private stream, in our stocked ponds and in neighboring lakes and streams. The Dubois area gets much less fishing pressure than Jackson Hole or almost anywhere in states like Montana, Colorado and Idaho. The East Fork of the Wind River runs through the ranch for over a mile and holds many cutthroat trout between 8 and 14 inches although they have been caught up to 20. Our private stream is for catch and release only.
